Dogs can smell breast cancer save his owner
Maureen observed that her canine Max was acting outlandishly. He was languid, not cuddling with her, and was jabbing his snout at Maureen’s breast. You may be thinking it as April fool but it is a real story that needs your attention.
Maureen was not sure and was confused about Max’s attitude. She thought that she may be losing her dog forever and it may be dying as his age approaches to over nine years. But next observance was really bad as she noticed a lump inside her breast. Her dog was conspicuously looking at her and she went out for examination. But mammogram and scan showed no results and all was normal. But then she undergone through the process of biopsy and she has been diagnosed with cancer.
But as soon as she returned home after cancer surgery; she found that her dog is behaving normally as before diagnosis of breast cancer.
But now, BBC has revealed the research results that conclude that some dogs like Max have the power to feel cancerous tumors. Dog can even nominate cancerous patients through examination of urine. Moreover, dogs can even smell if someone is suffering with diabetes and other such diseases. Some other researches show that in some kinds of cancer; patient’s breath can give the clue.
A smelling machine was used to test breath and it had given seventy five percent accurate test about breast cancer. And surprisingly; in another test, puppies were used to distinguish between breast and lung cancer patients against healthy individuals. According to the reports of National Geographic, dogs can detect breast and lung cancers with a witnessed accuracy of eighty eight to ninety seven percent.
There have been heaps of figures and calculations all around but one figure that inspired me was given by National Geographic. It does not only inspire but surprised me by demonstrating that dog’s sense of smell is ten thousand to one hundred thousand times better than humans.
