Dogs value their relationship more than anything else. In Virginia, one dog honored its companion’s death by sitting amid a busy road to mourn his friend’s death. But here it is necessary to mention that this world is not deprived of kind people like Karen Spencer Boyles who resided besides the dog for its protection, comfort and called for rescue. Karen commented that dogs are always available for help of humans on every call.
So, Karen Spencer sat beside the dog as friend, protector and a officer rescue agent. She added that she spotted dog’s friend killed amid the road and it melted her heart to sit beside the dog. The dog refused to leave his friend’s dead body alone and even was risking his own life so there was an urgent need of rescue.
According to Karen, the dog was not only scarred but it was helpless and she thinks the situation as one’s friend is wounded and he is standing alone besides his friend for help. The whole scene inspired an observer woman who captured an instant snap of both; the dog and the officer. That woman whose name is Michelle Carrington added that the female police officer stopped between the road where the dog has been hit by a vehicle and another dog was standing besides the wounded dog and it was barking. The officer pressed brakes, managed to transfer the dog aside and appeased him.
Karen Spencer Boyles added that if she would not have stopped there then the dog may not have left his companion’s body alone and there may be another accident that would possibly cost another life.
She had the feelings for such a situation as she experienced a similar incident while she was in police academy about thirteen years ago. She had a English Cocker Spaniel dog who was known as Tex. One day, the dog ran down in the street and was struck hard by a car while crossing the road. Her dog received first aid medication by a street walker who stopped and helped wounded dog. So, today Spencer was there to continue the chain of good deed.
Soon, the Richmond Animal Care and Control volunteer affiliates reached the point to take custody of grieving dog. It has been named as Guiseppe. It has been predicted that this was a family dog as it had a collar around his neck. So, the family had a chance to take the dog back for ten days but after the said period; the dog will be offered for adoption by another loving family.
According to Officer Spencer Boyles; she believes that this incident will push pet owners to do micro chipping of their pets to give them a recognition and easy identification.
But she also added that there are many wanderer animals without any permanent home or a family that should take care of them. But everyone should be proud of Officer’s determination and devotion to save such an animal.
