Do you have such courage to dive in a freezing river for saving a dog’s life? Not everyone dares to take such a big risk for sake of an animal’s life. However, this is the story of a courageous super man who is always ready to risk his life for sake of others. He is working as an animal control officer and did such jobs before. However, he risked his life and dived half naked into the Fraser River to save a dog’s life.
The reported story initiated as Shane Burnham an animal control officer in Richmond received a call notifying that a dog has been seen running mad between traffic in Richmond. Burnham reached the scene with a volunteer Melissa Franco and they witnessed another RCMP officer following the dog. However, it didn’t seem an easy task.
“He was going in traffic, this animal was going 40/km ab hour,” said franco.
So, they decided to call another bylaw officer and a RCMP officer. Steffan Zamzow and Maria Klokotzky reached the scene in emergency. However, as soon as the team gathered while following the dog; it took down to River Road. The team followed the way in a van.
“We didn’t want him togo into the water but he was so scared, ” said franco.
However, they could not stop him “super man” and it jumped into freezing river water. But Zamzow even didn’t stop and followed him. However, the dog was trapped amid two logs. So, Zamzow need to pull him out of trouble. But it wasn’t possible solely by Zamzow and Burnham as well as Alex Aris joined him to perform the task. Zamzow stripped off his shirt to do it.
“I was just like this has to go on the news because everyone came together and he’s shitless,” laugherd franco.
The dog was then named as Alex and it was injured on front paw. However, there weren’t big injuries but it was exhausted due to extreme running. It escaped during travel as the owners were travelling to the Northwest lands. However, not it has been reunited with the family and it is a happy moment for the 15-dog team.
